Almost all the cameras that we’ve reviewed on this site uses roughly the same body, mounting setup and shooting style.
But today, we’re going to take a look at one of a current Indiegogo project, that’s so unique we couldn’t help but share it with you.
And that’s the new Flex Cam OPPY!
Introducing The New OPPY
Flexible Unique Mounting Setup
The Flex Cam Oppy’s flexible neck mixed with its WALL-E like head should definitely catch your eye more than anything else.
At the base, you also have a holder to grip onto the camera which also houses the battery pack and all the brain of the camera.
This design certainly makes mounting and shooting way more convenient since it covers almost 99% of the mounting options we’ll ever use.
4 In 1
From mounting onto a bicycle and standing on its own on the ground, all the way to using the flexible neck as a selfie stick, the OPPY certainly has an edge over the market.
The lack of accessories needed.
However, on the other hand, although it’s way more convenient than traditional action cams, it certainly isn’t as rigid and secure as what we see on the GoPros.
Therefore, although it certainly is more than enough for many of us, it still lacks a bit of ruggedness especially for professionals or sports enthusiasts.
How Does The Camera Perform?
For a start, the OPPY can shoot 13MP photos, powered by its Sony Exmor RS Image Sensor.
As for videos quality, it is capable of shooting 4K 24fps and has digital image stabilization.
Comparing the footage by OPPY to many other action cams that I’ve reviewed thus far, quality seems to be decent but image stabilization seems to be lacking a little.
Specs wise, it certainly isn’t the best or the worst for something of this price range.
Other than that, it also has wireless connectivity to connect to your phone for remote use and live streaming so you can share it on Facebook & Instagram with a few taps.
We’ll also have to bear in mind this costs slightly less than $100.
All in all, I feel this OPPY flex cam will certainly make filming way
It also comes with a splashproof case so you don’t have to worry about getting it wet in the event of snow or rain!
Moreover, with a relatively low price tag of $99, it certainly is great for you if you’re looking for an all-in-one camera to bring to your next vacation!
However, if you’re looking for a more durable camera that can last longer and has overall better stabilization and shot quality, check out some of my top action cam recommendations here!
